Knysna emerged in the early 1800s around the beautiful estuary at the heart of the mystical Knysna rainforest. Today, Knysna has grown into a buzzing mini metropolis – a synthesis of nature and sophisticated living.

 

Cambalala Guest House sits on a hill overlooking the Knysna Lagoon gazing out watching the tides roll in and out and surrounded by lush vegetation and ancient trees. Knysna was founded in the 1800’s by some wealthy English families who sought a mild climate, temperate throughout the year, today thousands of people visit the town - but your would never know it, they seem to disappear into the trees like shadows.

 

Famous for it’s succulent oysters, countless outdoor activities, two world-class golf courses and a variety of dining and shopping experiences, Knysna retains its sense of romance, majesty and mystery. It truly is the ‘jewel of the Cape Garden Route’.
